Ontario Provincial Police have identified the deceased person in Friday's fire on Carson Street in Rockland.
Police say Paul Sarazin, 60 years of age, was found deceased at the scene.
Foul play is not suspected in the fire which broke out in a detached garage of the home which, as reported earlier by OttawaMatters, had no working smoke alarms.
The Rockland Fire Department, Prescott-Russell Emergency Services and Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the structure fire at approximately 6:25 a.m. on Friday, March 16.
The cause of the fire is unknown but foul play is not suspected, say police.
The Russell County OPP Crime Unit , OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU), Coroner and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal assisted in the investigation, which is continuing.
