Man found on Highway 417 taken to hospital with gunshot wound

Ottawa OPP is investigating after an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound.

Police say they responded to a 911 call on Highway 417, just before Anderson Road in the eastbound lane, shortly after 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

The man from Ottawa was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries from the wound.

The highway, that had been partially closed for five hours, has since re-opened.

At this time, police believe there is no risk to public safety.
