Manor Park area sexual assault under investigation

Police say a woman walking alone was pushed to the ground and assaulted by a man on Hemlock Road.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed a sexual assault in the Manor Park area.

Officers say a woman was walking alone on Hemlock Road, Thursday, January 13, 2022, around 6:40 p.m., when she was approached from behind by an unknown man. The man continued to walk with the victim a short distance before pushing her to the ground and sexually assaulting her.

The victim was able to scream during the struggle and the suspect fled the area.

Police believe there were witnesses in the area at the time of the incident.

The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • In his 30s
  • 6' 0'' (183 cm)
  • Slim-to-medium build
  • Small but long face
  • Was described as wearing a black, mid-thigh-length winter jacket and black pants
  • Spoke English with no accent
