UPDATE: Motorcyclist who suffered serious life-threatening injuries in South Keys crash dies

UPDATE: Ottawa police have confirmed that a 49-year-old man, who was the driver of the motorcycle, has died.

Police say they are not able to provide further information as the investigation is ongoing. 

Police continue to look for witnesses and are in the progress of notifying next of kin.

Ottawa police are investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle that happened in the South Keys area.

Police say the crash happened at about 6:40 a.m. Monday, October 11, at the intersection of Bank Street and St. Paul Avenue.

Paramedics tell CityNews Ottawa that the motorcyclist was transported to the Civic Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

Bank Street is currently closed between Kitchener Avenue and Vancouver Avenue in both directions until further notice to allow for the investigation of the incident.
