A 15-year-old from Ottawa is facing child pornography charges.

The National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre received a report from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipLine, identifying an Ottawa area IP address, last October. It was then forwarded to the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

Officers then searched a local home and charged a teen with two counts of possession of child pornography.

He will appear in court Friday.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS), toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or downloading the Ottawa Police app.

The Ottawa Police Service is a member of the provincial strategy to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation on the Internet.  This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
