OPP arrest three in Augusta on weapon and drug charges

Three people have been charged after drugs and weapon were seized in Augusta, located about an hour south of downtown Ottawa. 

According to OPP, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Meadowview Drive on Wednesday as part of on ongoing investigation. 

Police arrested the trio and seized a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, suspected cyst methamphetamine and other items associated with drug trafficking. 

Robert McWilliams, 35, of Augusta is charged with: 

  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a loaded, prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

McWilliams has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear by video before a Brockville courtroom at a later date. 

Angel McNeely, 31, of Perth is charged with:

  • Three counts of failing to comply with undertaking

Jessie Barrie, 29, of Brockville is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine

Both accused were released at the scene but are scheduled to appear in a Brockville courtroom at a later date.
