OPP charge Kanata resident with stunt driving on Highway 7

A 28-year-old resident of Kanata has been charged with stunt driving after being caught going 64 km/h over the speed limit on Highway 7. 

The incident took place on June 12 at roughly 7:15 p.m. An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer caught the driver driving 144 km/h in a posted 80km/h zone. The driver was charged with excessive speed and speeding 50 km/h or more over the posted speed limit. 

The driver was issued a summons to appear at the Ontario Provincial Offences Court in Kingston. The accused had their licence suspended for 30 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days.
