OPP charge two people in connection to death of 51-year-old Brockville man

Leeds County OPP have arrested two people and laid charges in connection with the death of a 51-year-old man from the Brockville area.

In a statement released on Friday, November 12, OPP said that on September 20, 2020, police helped paramedics at a residence on Kitley Line Eight in Kitley Township, where officers located Donald Edward Armstrong deceased at the location.

Following a year-long investigation in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services, two people were arrested on Wednesday, November 10.

Joseph Myers, 35, and Tracey Janes, 43, from Kitley Township were both charged with the following:

  • Causing death by criminal negligence
  • Failing to provide necessities of life
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Myers was further charged with manslaughter.

The accused were released and are scheduled to appear at a Brockville courtroom on November 26.
