OPP investigating hit and run in Renfrew

By Mike Vlasveld

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is looking for a vehicle which took off after a collision on Black Donald Road.

On Thursday, around 6:45 p.m. the victim was driving a pick-up truck on Black Donald Road when an approaching car drove into the victim's lane.

The truck swerved into the ditch to avoid being hit, but the suspect's vehicle did end up striking the pick-up.

The suspect stopped momentarily and then drove away eastbound toward Calabogie.

Police said evidence seized at the scene showed the car was burgundy or red in colour. It may have been a Monte Carlo model, and sustained damage to its front bumper, driver's side headlight, turn light and front driver's side fender.

Anyone with information on the suspect or vehicle is asked to contact Sgt Bruce Sawbridge at the Renfrew OPP at 613-432-3211.
