OPP investigating Hwy 401 sign truck crash

A Toronto area man is being charged after a Ministry of Transportation truck was hit on Hwy 401 near Mallorytown.

A tractor trailer hit a construction sign truck around 1:45 p.m. on July 9.

A 37-year-old man from Edwardsburgh suffered minor injuries in the crash, as he was sitting in the driver's seat of the MTO truck.

A 19-year-old man from North Stormont, who was working on the side of the road at the time of the incident, was struck by the tractor trailers tire and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 42-year-old man from Richmond Hill, was charged with careless driving.

The OPP continue to investigate the collision.
