OPP nab local highway stunt drivers

Three men are charged after vehicles are caught going more than 50 and 60 km/hr over speed limit on local highways

Three men are facing stunt driving charges after incidents on Hwy 401 and Hwy 15 in Leeds County.

Around 2:45 a.m. Friday, Ontario Provincial Police officers spotted a vehicle driving in excess of 52 km over the speed limit on Hwy 401 WB.

An 18-year-old North Dundas man had his vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.

At 11:25 p.m., a car was stopped after going 62 km over the speed limit on Hwy 15 in Rideau Lakes Township.

An Ottawa man, 26, had his vehicle towed and impounded.

Finally, around 11:35 p.m. another car had to be towed and impounded after police caught it being driven 54 km over the speed limit on Hwy 401.

The accused in that case is from Mississauga.

All three men will appear at Brockville Provincial Offences Court at a later date.
