Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Lanark County arrested a driver and passenger involved in a single motor vehicle collision.
On June 18, 2022, just before 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to a collision on County Road 29 near Pick Road in Mississippi Mills. The involved vehicle left the roadway and struck a stone business sign. The driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, the driver, Daryl McNeely, 60, from the Beckwith Township was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Possession schedule I substance - cocaine
The accused is scheduled to appear on July 25, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth.
The passenger, Wilfred Moore, 34, of Mississippi Mills was charged with:
- Fail to comply with release conditions
- Possession schedule I substance - cocaine
The accused was held for a bail hearing on June 22, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth, Ontario.
