OPP officers nab potential car thieves in Hawkesbury

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on June 4, officers intercepted five individuals in a vehicle who were in possession of tools used to steal cars.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Hawkesbury have made five arrests in relation to potential vehicle thefts in the area on June 4. 

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Main Street in Hawkesbury, officers intercepted five individuals in a vehicle who were in possession of tools used to steal cars. 

The individuals are facing charges under the Criminal Code of Canada.

Roland Jeudy, 18, from Montreal, Québec, is facing:

  • Possession of automobile master key tool
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Possession of proceeds from property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Three counts of failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court 
  • Failure to comply with undertaking

Jaheed Phanor,18, from Montreal, Québec, is facing:

  • Possession of automobile master key tool
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Possession of proceeds from property obtained by crime under $5,000

A 17-year-old male from Montreal, Québec, will be facing: (because he is a youth his name cannot be published)

  •  Possession of automobile master key tool
  •  Possession of break in instruments
  •  Possession of proceeds from property obtained by crime under $5,000

Another 17-year-old male from Montreal, Québec, will be facing: (because he is a youth his name cannot be published)

  • Possession of automobile master key tool
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Possession of proceeds from property obtained by crime under $5,000

Delphin Tsomba Tabona, 18, from Brampton, Ontario, will be facing:

  • Possession of automobile master key tool
  • Possession of break in instruments
  • Possession of proceeds from property obtained by crime under $5,000

The individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the L'Orignal Court of Justice on July 6, 2022.
