The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says another person has been killed while on local roadways during Monday's snow storm.
Police say the driver of an Arnprior tow company was killed on Highway 417 westbound after getting out of his truck to assist a small vehicle that was stuck in a ditch at around 12:20 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2022.
Officers were called to the scene after reports of a snowplow hitting a pedestrian.
Another person died Monday after a vehicle and two transport trucks collided around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 417 eastbound in North Glengarry.
The OPP says all sections of Highway 417 and Highway 7 have reopened to traffic, but it continues to urge all drivers to stay off local roads and highways due to inclement weather.
UPDATE: #HWY7 RE-OPENED THRU @LanarkCounty1. #LanarkOPP is still asking motorists to stay off the roads if at all possible. A huge THANK YOU to all the snow plow operators across the Region!
