A three-month child pornography investigation has lead the Ottawa Police Service to searching a home in the Carelton Square area, and arresting a 30-year-old man.

The Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit received several reports from various social media platforms in relation to the distribution child porn images, between November of 2018 and January 2019.

The police investigation and production orders on the Internet Service Providers revealed that the offences originated from a Carleton Square-area address.

A search warrant was executed at that address on Thursday, March 28. Electronics devices were forensically examined and revealed an extensive collection of Child Pornography.

With the assistance of the Cornwall Police Service, the suspect was found and arrested in their jurisdiction.

  • Possession of Child Pornography s. 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code (5 counts)
  • Breach sex offence condition order s. 161 (4) of the Criminal Code (2 counts)

  • Possession of property obtained by crime s. 355(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon s. 91(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of schedule I s. 4(1) of the CDSA
  • Trafficking in substance schedule I s.5(2) of the CDSA
