Ottawa OPP investigating fatal truck rollover on Hwy 417 at Carp Road

The driver of a tractor trailer is dead after the vehicle rolled on Highway 417 at Carp Road.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Ottawa responded to the collision in the westbound lanes of the highway around 1:23 p.m., Friday, March 5.

The investigation has determined that the truck left the roadway and rolled over. OPP say the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead, but the next of kin has not been notified.

The off ramp lane of Highway 417 to northbound Carp Road is expected to be closed for several hours while the OPP collision investigators work to determine the cause of the crash.
