The Ottawa Police Service is searching for the driver of a vehicle which struck a traffic officer at Heron Road and Prince of Wales Drive.

It happened at around 8:55 a.m., Friday, as the officer was attempting to pull over the vehicle.

We are looking for a four-door black Acura (TL or TSX, unknown year) with a smashed out passenger window.

There was only one person in the car — a man driving the vehicle.

The officer has been transported to hospital for treatment as a precaution.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
