Ottawa police probe third shooting in city’s east end over long weekend

Ottawa police are investigating another shooting over the weekend in the city’s east end.

Police are looking into the shooting they believe to be targeted that happened Saturday at about 5:50 p.m., OPS confirmed in a statement Saturday.

According to OPS, frontline patrol officers responded to a call about a shooting in the west covered parking lot of 1200 St. Laurent Blvd. — the St. Laurent Shopping Centre.

There are no reported injuries at this time.   

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have information about this incident.

Police also confirmed on Saturday that they were investigating a second shooting in the area of Montreal Road and Cyr Avenue in Vanier.

Police said shots were fired in this incident as well, which were believed to have come from a vehicle.

Injuries were also not reported in this case.

This is the third shooting over the long weekend. SIU is currently investigating an incident where a man was shot by an Ottawa police officer in the Beacon Hill area.
