Ottawa police searching for missing 61-year-old, vehicle spotted north of Bancroft

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is asking for public's help to find a 61-year-old man, who was last seen in the area of Trim Road and Watters Road.

Malcolm Carswell went missing on Saturday, October 16, and police say his family is concerned for his safety.

Police say he drives a black Chevy Silverado pickup truck and his vehicle was spotted on Forest Access Road in the area of Lake St-Peter, in the municipality of Hastings Highland, north of Bancroft on Thursday. It is believed that Carswell is still in that area.

He is described as:

  • White
  • 5' 10'' (178 cm)
  • 110 lbs (50 kg) 
  • Slim build 
  • Long dark brown hair in a ponytail
  • Brown eyes
  • Brown and grey goatee
  • Wears transition prescription glasses.
  • Was last seen wearing jeans and brown steel toe work boots

Anyone with information about the current whereabouts of Carswell is asked to call the Ottawa Police at 613-236-1222.

Anyone with any information that could help police is asked to contact the Missing Persons Unit 613-236-1222, ext. 2355, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., on weekdays.
