Ottawa undercover police discover purple fentanyl and cocaine in Vanier bust

A 47-year-old Ottawa man is in court after police uncovered cocaine and purple fentanyl at a home on McArthur Avenue near Lacasse Avenue.
     
The Ottawa Police Drug Unit and Street Crime Team arrested a suspect after an undercover operation, Monday, January 28. 

Investigators say the operation happened where people were coming to buy purple fentanyl and cocaine. 

The approximate street value of the seized fentanyl is $1,080, while the cocaine is $140.  

Robert Gallant is charged with:

– Trafficking in a schedule I substance (2 counts)
– Trafficking by offer in a schedule I substance (2 counts)
– Possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance
– Possession of proceeds of crime
– Breach of recognizance 

Gallant is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
