UPDATE: Pedestrian killed in west Ottawa collision

A 70-year-old is dead after being hit by a vehicle in a west-Ottawa neighbourhood.

Ottawa paramedics say the collision happened just before 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, on Southwood Drive, just east of Greenbank Road and north of Baseline Road.

The victim was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to their injuries, according to Ottawa police.

Southwood Drive is closed between Baseline Road and Rector Avenue as police continue to investigate the incident.
