Perth and Smiths Falls business man charged in fraud investigation

Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man who operates businesses in the Town of Perth and Town of Smiths Falls, following a two-month long fraud investigation.

Police received a walk-in complaint at the Lanark County Detachment back in June, which resulted in the investigation by officers and detectives from the crime unit.

Mark LEE, 57, of the Town of Smiths Falls is charged:

– Fraud over $5,000
– Use Forged Document (two counts)
– Personation with Intent to Gain Advantage Contrary to the Criminal Code.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.
