Police believe missing Kuplu may have been last seen in Britannia area (VIDEO)

By Mike Vlasveld

The Ottawa Police Service hopes new video footage of missing Susan Kuplu will help in identifying what her next steps might have been.

The video shows Kuplu in the area of Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue on January 10, at 10:45 a.m.

Investigators have also learned that at approximately 11:50 a.m. she headed north towards Laurier Avenue, and is believed to have possibly boarded a westbound OC Transpo bus from the Mackenzie King Bridge or the surrounding area.

Police think she may have disembarked from the bus in the area of Carling Avenue and Pinecrest Road.

Kuplu was wearing a black mid-thigh-length parka with a black fur collar. She was also wearing dark pants, dark ankle boots and a patterned short sleeve blouse and was carrying a midsized dark-coloured purse or bag.

The Major Crime Unit took over the file on Tuesday evening, based on developments in the direction of the investigation and the potential that foul play may be involved.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Ottawa Police Major Crime Section at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493, the tip line at ext. 5477 or by e-mail at mcm@ottawapolice.ca.
