Ottawa police say they’ve identified “all persons” involved in a dispute that resulted in the stabbing death of Eric Hewer, but are still seeking witnesses for their investigation.

On Monday evening, the 19-year-old was out celebrating his birthday in the downtown area when he and another were stabbed on Metcalfe Street near Albert Street.

However, police add that no charges have been laid at this time.

The investigation continues and anyone with information about an altercation between three e-scooter riders and a black Volkswagen that evening, at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Metcalfe Street, is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
