Police now investigating fire at vacant building in Gatineau

It took crews over an hour to get flames under control on Maloney Boulevard.

A fire at a vacant building in Gatineau has done $60,000 in damages. 

Fire crews were called to 1588 Maloney Blvd. shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday.

With 26 firefighters on the scene dousing the flames, it still took about an hour or more to declare the blaze under control. 

No one was inside the building at the time of the blaze.

Officials said the building suffered heavy damage and police are now investigating.
