Police search apartment, arrest child pornography suspect near ByWard Market

Ottawa police launched an investigation after getting information from the RCMP about an Ottawa resident, suspected of possessing child pornography.

A 30-year-old Ottawa man is facing child pornography charges after information from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) led to an Ottawa Police Service (OPS) investigation.

The OPS Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) launched investigation on November 10, 2021. Information from the RCMP indicated an Ottawa resident was suspected of being in possession of child pornography. 

The ICE Unit executed a search warrant on Thursday, November 26, in a George Street apartment, between Dalhousie Street and Cumberland Street.

Phillippe-Olivier Delia, 30, of Ottawa, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Child Pornography s. 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code
  • Make Available Child Pornography s. 163.1 (3) of the Criminal Code

He appeared in court on Friday morning. 

The investigation is ongoing to determine if more charges will be laid.
