Police seize drugs and cash following search warrant in Centretown

Drugs and money were seized by the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) following a July 13 search warrant in the 200 block of LeBreton and the 300 block of McLeod Streets.

Over two kilograms of cocaine and over $25,000 in Canadian currency were seized.

The OPS drug unit Unit began an investigation in May of 2022 after receiving information about the suspected trafficking of controlled substances in the Centretown area.

Search warrants were executed and two people were arrested.

Brayden Sangster, 25, of Ottawa, was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000. Morgan Thompson, 21, of Ottawa, was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking.

Both were released on undertakings with a court appearance scheduled at a later date.
