Police stop swerving transport on 401, say driver trying to urinate in bottle

By OttawaMatters Staff

The Ontario Provincial Police is reminding drivers that trying to do anything else while you are operating your vehicle impairs your ability to drive, and puts other road users at risk.

This comes after officers responded to a complaint along Hwy. 401, west of Mallorytown, where a tractor trailer was seen serving in and out of lanes around 3:45 p.m. Thursday.

Police learned that the driver was urinating in a bottle while trying to drive the truck.

A 24-year-old Toronto area man was charged with one count of careless driving.

The OPP also reminds drivers there are several service centres along Hwy. 401 that provide an assortment of amenities and services and would like to encourage road users to stop and use them.
