One person is dead after a collision involving two transports and a tanker truck carrying Petroleum.

Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police shut down Hwy 401 in both directions around 1p.m. Thursday, between Prescott and Maitland Road.

Police said the tanker carrying petroleum was compromised and fuel cleanup is underway.

Officers added that one of the drivers involved was the person killed.

The investigation continues.

The Thursday afternoon collision is in the same area as a Wednesday evening crash that involved two transports and two cars.

In that collision, a truck lost a load of steel, which hit the second transport. The second truck crashed into two passenger vehicles.

The driver of the first truck was air lifted to hospital with serious injuries.
