Second degree murder charge laid, victim identified in Barrhaven homicide

An Ottawa man is facing one count of second degree murder and one count of attempted murder after Linda Frederick, 64, was killed and a 66-year-old man was seriously injured at a home on Sherway Drive in Barrhaven.
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) officers were called to the home at 9:30 p.m.on Sunday.
Police evacuated surrounding homes and began work which eventually led to the arrest of a suspect, around 1:45 a.m., Monday.
Conor Donnelly, 39, is currently in police custody and scheduled to appear in court via video.
The OPS says the victim with serious injuries remains in hospital.
