Suspect wanted in pair of pharmacy robberies near Chinatown, Centretown West

Ottawa police officers are hoping members of the public can help identify a man involved in two pharmacy robberies just off Bronson Avenue.

Investigators say a man walked into a pharmacy on Gladstone Avenue, near Bronson Avenue, around 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, and threatened the pharmacy clerk with a knife as he demanded medication.

The same man did the same thing at a pharmacy on Somerset Street West, near Bronson Avenue, around 11:40 a.m. that same morning.

In both cases, police say the suspect fled the area on foot with some medication.

No one was injured in either incident.

The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • In his 20s
  • Between 5' 8'' (173 cm)
  • 6' 0'' (183 cm)
  • Slim build
  • Long straight dark hair that hangs across his face
  • Was wearing a light-coloured long-sleeved grey hoodie, dark blue jeans, black shoes, a medical mask, and was carrying a black computer case
