Three tractor trailers collide, closing westbound 401 in South Glengarry

The drivers all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers are investigating a three-tractor trailer collision on Highway 401 in South Glengarry Township.

At about 12:21 a.m., Tuesday, police say a truck was travelling westbound on the highway when, for reasons under investigation, it was struck from behind by another westbound tractor trailer. A third tractor trailer then struck the rear of the second tractor trailer.

The drivers of all three trucks were taken to hospital; one with serious injuries, but all are said to be non-life-threatening.

SD&G OPP continue to investigate with the assistance of OPP Traffic Collision Investigators.

A section of westbound Highway 401 is closed to traffic with indicated detours in place, at exits 825 and 814.
