Truck crash close to Pembroke results in a charge

A transport lost control and ended up at the bottom of an embankment, spilling paint and fuel.

A 40-year-old tractor trailer driver from Quebec is facing a charge after an early morning crash in Laurentian Valley Township.

Just before 3 a.m. Wednesday, a transport truck went off Forest Lea Road and landed at the bottom of an embankment.

According to the OPP, there was extensive damage to the vehicle.

Tim Alexander of Dollard des Ormeaux was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

He has been charged with careless driving.

The department of the environment was called in to supervise the clean up, as some of the truck's load of paint had spilled. There was also a fuel leak.
