Two people arrested in connection to Rockland August assault

At the time of the assault, the victim was transported to hospital to be treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Two people have been arrested and charged in relation to an aggravated assault that happened in August.

According to Russell County OPP, on August 13 shortly after 10:15 p.m., OPP responded to a 911 call on Mercury Street in Rockland.

Officers located a youth with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim was transported to the hospital by Prescott-Russell EMS.

At the start of November, two individuals were arrested.

The first accused is a 38-year-old Rockland resident charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Three counts of obstructing justice

The second accused is a 21-year-old Ottawa resident charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order
  • Criminal harassment - threatening conduct

The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Original at a later date.

The identities of the accused cannot be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
