The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say there is no concern for public safety after an alleged threat involving Valour School in Petawawa.

The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the OPP began investigating reports of a concerning photo that appeared to include a firearm on the evening of Tuesday, January 18, and quickly identified the person in the picture.

The police investigation found that a youth had posted a photo with a pellet gun, not initially grasping the implications of the picture.

A 14-year-old youth from Petawawa, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, will not be charged, but will face extrajudicial measures.
