Popular Carleton Place coffee shop closing doors for good

By Alex Black

A popular coffee shop in Carleton Place is closing.

In a Facebook post, the owner of Under Pressure Coffee House announced the closure and thanked everyone for their support.

“Dear friends of Under Pressure, unfortunately I've exhausted all feasible options and our doors will be closing at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30. Thank you all for the support over the last five years. Cara.”

Artists who displayed their work on the walls are being asked to pick up their pieces.

“Thank you for adding beauty to the shop walls,” Cara writes. “You will need to come and collect your work. The sooner the better to avoid risk of damage while we move out. I will be contacting you in the next day or two, if you don't hear from me please reach out to me.”

Residents who have outstanding gift certificates are asked to use them as soon as possible, and those who can't are being asked to contact Cara for a refund.

The shop is also having a contents sale, with the following items for sale:

  • Espresso machines
  • Coffee makers and accessories
  • Blenders
  • Dishes
  • Baking equipment
  • Milk shake accessories (not the machine)
  • Tables
  • Chairs
  • Display unit
  • Kitchen Aid mixer
  • Other appliances, including a display fridge, a sandwich fridge, fridges, freezers and stove

Anyone with inquiries can call or text Cara at 613-207-1117.
