The emergency department at the Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) is temporarily closed due to an I.T. disruption.

The hospital says anyone in need of urgent care should call 911 and paramedics will take them to the nearest emergency department.

The tech issue, which started in the early morning hours on Thursday, October 21, means outpatient x-rays and ultrasounds are also on hold.

The hospital says day surgeries and total joint replacement surgeries will continue, but there could be delays in registering patients, because it will be done on paper, rather than through the computer system.

The emergency department will reopen when systems are restored.
