By Dani-Elle Dubé

Three schools under the Upper Canada District School Board have reported confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

At least one person has tested positive at Russell High School, Oxford on Rideau Public School in Kemptville and Morrisburg Public School.

An outbreak has been declared at Morrisburg Public School.

An outbreak is declared when two or more individuals have tested positive for the virus, at least one of which is linked to possible transmission within the school.

Parents, guardians, staff and students have already been notified of the positive cases.

Both the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit are working with the schools and actively communicating with anyone who may have had a high-risk exposure.

All three schools remain open and operating on their regularly daily schedules.
