St-Laurent Station reopens following remedial work to ceiling tiles: OC Transpo

St-Laurent station has reopened following remedial work to damaged concrete over the rail platforms.

OC Transpo closed the LRT station on May 18, after a visual inspection of ceiling tiles the day before found evidence of possible concrete damage and corrosion.

In an update to Mayor Mark Sutcliffe and members of council, the general manager of the Transit Services Department said Line 1 Service started on time this morning and trains are serving all stations between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations.

“Crews were able to successfully complete the required remedial work which was then inspected to confirm that all hazards have been mitigated,” said Renée Amilcar. “The station has been cleaned and is ready to receive passengers.”

While the station was closed, trains ran from Tunney’s Pasture to Blair Station, skipping St-Laurent Station, while bus shuttles operated between St-Laurent and Cyrville Stations.
