No one was hurt as Ottawa firefighters responded to a car on fire in the underground parking garage at the National Arts Centre (NAC) on Friday, Sept. 1.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) were on the scene shortly after 6 p.m. after receiving calls about smoke coming from the garage.

OFS said on X, the platform formally known as Twitter,  the fire was extinguished 12 minutes after crews arrived at the scene, but some smoke did make it way to some of the administration offices.

Firefighters checked the air quality inside the venue before patrons were allowed back inside.
