Ottawa firefighters knock down delivery car fire before it spreads to restaurant

Firefighters prevented a St. Hubert from going up in flames after they extinguished a vehicle fire in the capital’s east end Tuesday afternoon.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) said they received the call at around 12:10 p.m. Tuesday for a burning car at the St. Hubert location on St. Laurent.

Fire crews arrived on scene where one of the restaurant’s delivery cars was fully engulfed in flames and only a few feet from the building. Firefighters got the blaze under control by 12:17 p.m.

Fire crews are still on scene ventilating smoke that got into the restaurant.

No injuries were reported.
