Driver caught racing on Hwy. 416 charged with stunt driving: Ottawa OPP

Ottawa OPP says they’ve charged a driver with stunt driving on Saturday night.

Police say just before 11 p.m. the driver appeared to be racing another vehicle on Highway 416 and was going 187 km/h.

The driver, who has not been identified, received a roadside 30-day driver’s license suspension and their vehicle was impounded for two weeks.

Police say the driver faces a minimum $2,000 fine and 6 demerit points if they are convicted.

The OPP is looking to speak with the driver of the second vehicle which they describe as a dark coloured SUV. If you may have witnessed this event and have dashcam footage, please call 1-888-310-1122 to report it.
