Via train delays continue Tuesday

CORNWALL, Ont. – Travellers on Via Rail in eastern Ontario should set some extra time aside Tuesday because of a freight train derailment near Cornwall.
Via Rail is rerouting its Montreal-Toronto trains in both directions via Ottawa.
In some cases it will replace its trains with bus service, but expects to resume normal service by midday.
The company said travellers should expect delays of up to two hours.
More than a dozen cars of the freight train left the tracks Monday morning.
A handful of the cars contained dangerous goods including ammonium nitrate, sulphuric acid and sodium cyanide.
A CN spokesman said there was a small leak of about nine kilograms of sodium cyanide, but no one has been injured and the spill was contained.
