Ottawa’s coldest celebration is looking for financial help

Winterlude organizers say it’s “critical” the festival get new partners.

Winterlude will run between February 4 and 21 of 2011 and will feature crowd favourites like skating on the Rideau Canal, Ice Sculpture competitions and more.

NCC CEO Marie Lemay says it’s not just about maintaining Winterlude.

She says the company wants to evolve the festival and it needs to rebuild and reinvent the crowd pleaser.

Winterlude currently has a $4 million budget, but Lemay said more sustainable funding is needed for the long-term success of the event.
