Gatineau standoff ends peacefully

A standoff involving a man with a knife in Gatineau ended peacefully, Monday afternoon.
The man had barricaded himself inside his apartment after a bailiff tried to evict him that morning. When the bailiff saw the man had a knife, he left to call police.
Police had been trying to speak with the man, but weren’t able to make contact.
The man stepped out of the apartment just before 4:30 p.m. The man was taken to hospital as a precaution.
No one was hurt in the incident. Charges are not expected.
