Man in serious condition after late-night assault

A man was in serious condition after a late night beating in Centretown.
Paramedics were called to Somerset Street near Elgin, where a man had been assaulted by two other men.
The attack is believed to have occurred some time between 11 p.m and 11:30 p.m.
A 38-year-old man, who was in critical condition, was found unconscious, breathing erratically with a broken jaw, broken nose and missing teeth.
Paramedics administered on-site treatment with advanced airways, oxygen, intravenous fluids and cardiac equipment.
The man was upgraded to serious condition by the time he arrived at hospital.
One man is in police custody. Ottawa Police are still looking into what prompted the attack.
