A new survey released by Harris Decima today shows the Conservatives have put more ground between them and the Liberals.
Just one month ago the Tories and Liberals were running even in the Harris Decima Survey, but the latest figures in their latest poll found the Conservatives with an 8 percent lead. It’s the biggest lead they’ve enjoyed since last May. The difference was found in provincial gains in Ontario and Quebec. Last month the Conservatives were tied in Ontario. Today, they enjoyed a jump of five percent. In Quebec they’ve seen their numbers increase to 18 percent from just 11 percent a month ago.
As the election rhetoric has heated up Prime Minister Stephen Harper was on the CBC last night touting the positives of the five years of minority rule.
His comments came as the Conservatives released attack ads mainly targeted at Liberal leader Michael Ignatiueff.
