Parents pack school to discuss overcrowding

Hundred of parents packed into a Kanata high school to listen to possible solutions for overcrowding at many elementary schools in the area.

At the meeting held last night, the Ottawa District school board said it hoped to alleviate the overcrowding at schools such as Stephen Leacock public school in Kanata North by September. Stephen Leacock public school as room for 483 students but currently holds a population of more than 750.

Numerous short term solutions were discussed, including moving students to other area schools.
