Security officers kept ambulances from entering resort after deadly blast

It appears security officers actually kept ambulances from entering a Mexican resort following a deadly explosion last November. The blast that ripped through a lobby of the Grand Riviera Princess hotel in Playa del Carmen killed five Canadians and two Mexican workers.

C-B-C reported eight emergency calls made after the blast reveal that hotel security barred ambulances and police from entering the resort complex.

Twenty-one minutes after the first emergency call, ambulances finally made it past the guards and the resort’s front gate.
