Black history Ottawa couldn’t have picked a better way to celebrate its 25th anniversary. African Canadian activists, artists, youth leaders and athletes gathered for the program at Library and Archives Canada that featured interspersed performances with awards and speeches.
More than 300 people including government house leader John Baird, Ottawa MPP Yasir Naqvi and several diplomats turned out.
The event was to launch a month long series of films, talks and events to celebrate our vibrant African-Canadian community.
